This project is about the short shelf life of novelty. The title GLUTTONOUS BALL is a metaphor for the game <Snake>, in which new things are constantly devoured.
The concept stems from human behavior: Bored with the familiar things in the same environment, one is simulated easily by novelty. But after a while, the freshness wears off. In the Red Ball's eyes, "new friends" become dull with time, leading to a new round of boredom.
The 3 minutes video is created from the point of view of the red ball. It can also be seen that these “new things” are still natural colors. It’s just that in the eyes of the red ball.
The sound effects of the film are mainly drums and strings, which accompany the appearance of the white silk, while the boredom associated with the red ball is indicated by the sound of monotonous drums.
I also made a collection book to record my working process, all of the model made in C4D.

这个作品源于想寻求一种方式来展现『新鲜感的易腐性』
标题灵感自游戏“贪吃蛇”：不断吞食新东西且没有尽头。
短片的初衷是持中立态度、不带批判性地展示这个过程。“一时的兴趣”正常而普遍，新奇的探索给生活带来乐趣。不过也难说这种惰性会产生相对贪婪的诉求。在红球眼里，“新朋友”会随着时间的推移变得无聊，而这种熟悉引发新一轮的厌倦。
这段3分钟的视频是从红球的角度拍摄的。
也可以看做：这些“新事物”仍然是自然的颜色，甚至房间本身也是。
音效以鼓点和弦乐为主，弦乐随丝绸出现，红球感到的沉闷和单调的鼓点相合。

Bored with the familiar things in the same environment, when is simulated easily by novelty.
But after a while, the freshness fades.
In the Red Ball's eyes, "new friends" become dull with time.
The novelty had been swiped away by a new round of boredom.
By giving the red ball a personality:
it feels bored in a red room and hopes to have different colors in life.
As expected, white silk appeared, and the red ball was excited by the novelty. But at the end of the day, it noticed that the silk seemed to be a little reddish. It was confused but didn’t care.
As time went by, the silk turned completely red.
There were more and more things in the room, but eventually, they all turned the same red.

一丝新奇便能抚慰
可似乎难以长久
在红球的眼里
他们都在时间流逝中变成枯腐的木偶
新鲜感轻易被新一轮的无聊扫空
红球在房里空闲得百无聊赖
所幸
白色的丝绸像一束光
进入了他的生活
这新奇令他兴奋不已
不久
丝绸微微泛红
他困惑但并未放在心上
后来
世界被红色盈满
